The early sculptures were influenced by my years of apprenticeship in Paris, France.  The saying,"It is hard to come out from the shade of a great Oak tree," meant for myself that the love, admiration, and gratitude that I felt for my teachers had to be absorbed before I could find my own voice in sculpture.

In the late 60's my search for a suitable medium to incorporate my love of light and beauty found expression in multiple-unit sculptures that combined lucite, white Carrara marble, and chrome-plated steel cylinders.

Just as the abstract lucite sculptures were a complete change in expression from the earlier figurative pieces, the paintings and drawings of Meher Baba are another total change from the previous artwork.  The common factor however is love.  Whatever I am working on is an expression of what is most important to me at that time.  Meher Baba is the universal spiritual Master who is the embodiment of divine Love. Considering my eye condition, which includes colour blindness, it has been God's gift to me that I am able to "feel" colour.  That is how I paint, colour choice depends on the feeling that I want to convey in the painting.
